About the Event
Greetings fellow food and wine lovers,
We hope you’re excited for the second stop of our virtual tour of Italy: Liguria!
Protected by the ancient god Janus, this region is an important gateway into Italy’s wistful and ancient wines. Cinque Terre is the most well-known area, but there are many hidden villages that make delicious wines on epically steep, terraced hills above the coast with breathtaking ocean views.
In this class, we’ll pound our own pesto (mortar and pestle recommended!) and dive deeper into the science of food and wine pairings, talking specifically about fat and bitterness. Along with pesto, we'll be tasting a Ligurian white wine which is one of Italy’s lesser-known wine regions. Servings are enough for 2 adults. (Only 1 Ticket required per household)
Our hosts and instructors for the evening will be:
* Chaney Janssen, a Certified Wine Specialist & Italian Wine Scholar.
* Meghan O'Connell, a Chef and Master of Public Health.
In advance of class, participants will receive a PDF with the full shopping list and suggestions on where to purchase the wine we’ll be tasting.
Waiting room will open a few minutes early to allow time for everyone to get ready. Class will start promptly at 5:30 p.m.
Don't forget to mark your calendar for our last destination:
• November 14th: Mushrooms and Umbria
** If you are a paid Dante member and don't see the discount applied when logged into your account contact Laurie by firstname.lastname@example.org, for assistance before making a purchase. We cannot offer refunds, unless the class is canceled by Dante.
