About the Event

The legendary late Marcelo Mastroianni compassionately portrays Professor Sinigaglia, a former high school teacher turned activist trying to organize workers at a late 19th century Turin textile factory. The film is brimming with humor, even with its serious theme. It has been called one the finest films on labor ever made. It was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the 37th Academy Awards. This is a new high-definition restoration of a black and white classic film, from the Criterion Collection. 130 minutes
