What happens when an openly gay man, Piero (Luca Argentero) decides to run for mayor in a conservative town in North Eastern Italy? The local powers that be put up Adele (Claudia Gerini), a Catholic and strict conservative politician, as a candidate for deputy mayor. Sparks fly and the plot twists and turns, with comic effect. The film was nominated for four David di Donatello awards: best new director, actor, actress and supporting actor (Filippo Nigro who plays Piero’s boyfriend). 100 minutes
